The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work

is a research-based and research-tested psychoeducational workshop that is dedicated to improving the quality couple relationships. Developed by world renowned relationship and parenting experts, Drs. John and Julie Gottman,  the 7 Principles program is perfect for couples who are contemplating engagement, premarital couples, couples who are living together, or even couples who have been married for decades!

Dr. John Gottman has been researching couples for over four decades and has been able to predict divorce of these couples in his studies with 91% accuracy! Likewise, the research has also been able to predict which couples stay together in satisfying relationships and what they do to have healthy, happy, rewarding relationships. The tools offered in this workshop will provide couples with skills that these “masters of relationships” do and help couples avoid doing what distressed couples do.

The goal the 7 Principles Workshop is the strengthen relationships in a variety of ways, including:

  • deepening love maps

  • fostering fondness and admiration

  • facilitating turning toward each other

  • accepting influence

  • solving solvable problems

  • overcoming gridlock

  • creating shared meaning

  • maintaining gains
