Erin is a licensed professional counselor and a licensed marriage and family therapist. She works with individual adults, couples, and families. Erin is available to see clients in-person and virtually.

Background/Training: Erin earned her master’s degree in community counseling with a focus on marriage and family therapy from Western Michigan University in 2010. She worked for over 7 years at Family & Children Services as an outpatient therapist and worked for Mobile Crisis Response in Kalamazoo for 3 years. Erin began this practice in 2017.

Erin has specialized training in the Gottman method of couples therapy and is a Gottman Educator, offering Gottman Couples Workshops. She is also trained to use the Prepare/Enrich pre-marital assessment tool. Additionally, Erin has training in an evidence-based parenting model, called Parent Management Training - Oregon Model (PMTO). She studied structural and strategic family therapy during graduate school and post-graduate training.

Erin has a goldendoodle named Rozy who is training to be a therapy dog. She is a sweet and affectionate pup and will join your session, if you’d like. She enjoys snuggling with humans, laying on people’s feet, and getting treats.

In addition to starting and managing this private practice, Erin offers clinician supervision to limited licensed clinicians and teaches part-time at Western Michigan University in the Family & Consumer Sciences department.

Bessie Turner, LMSW

Bessie is a licensed master social worker. She works with individual adults, parents, and teens. Bessie is available to see clients in-person and virtually.

Background/Training:

Bessie earned her master’s degree in social work from Western Michigan University in 2004. She worked for the Wraparound Program with the Kalamazoo community mental health agency from 2004-2020. She began working in private practice in 2020.

Bessie has specialized training in an evidence based parenting model called Generation PMTO. She is a trained clinician, coach, and trainer for this program, traveling around the country coaching and training clinicians. She is also newly trained in EMDR, an evidence-based model to support individuals working through trauma.

Background/Training: Blair earned her master’s degree in counselor education with a specialty in marriage and family therapy from Western Michigan University in 2019. She has worked in private practice since 2019 and started at this private practice in 2022.

Blair has specialized training in working with chronic pain and illness as a Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider (CMHIMP). She also has additional training in trauma associated with The Body Keeps the Score. Additionally, she has completed training in evidence-based behavioral techniques for managing chronic pain.

Blair is also certified in the Prepare/Enrich pre-marital assessment tool and enjoys working with couples at all stages of their relationship.

Blair works with adolescents, individuals, and couples on a wide variety of concerns focused in anxiety, depression, interpersonal relationships, stress management, life transitions, communication skills, grief, self-esteem, and coping skills. Her treatment approach is centered in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Person-Centered Therapy to provide unconditional positive regard to the therapeutic relationship and further identify thoughts, feelings, and emotions that may impact current daily behaviors.

Amy earned her masters degree in college counseling from Western Michigan University in 2018. Prior to that, Amy was an educator and worked in the non-profit sector. Amy currently works as an academic advisor and started part-time at this practice in 2022.

Amy has specialized training in career counseling She is certified in the Strong Interest Inventory. Amy works with college students and adult individuals experiencing life transitions or seeking strategies for stress management, finding balance, and career transitions.
